Established in 1986, CareFlight is a critical care aeromedical retrieval service and charity based in Westmead, New South Wales. The organisation has been saving lives for 36 years by using a range of helicopters, turbo prop aeroplanes, medi-jets and ground vehicles to transfer patients from accident scenes and between hospitals.
CareFlight's critical care doctors, paramedics and nurses are specially trained in emergency and trauma, along with pre-hospital and remote medicine. The organisation plays a vital role in the survival of patients by providing advanced trauma treatment and critical medical care to seriously ill and injured patients as quickly as possible - through this patients have the greatest chance to get back to their lives safely.
The organisation is also home to a special unit called the Mounties Care CareFlight Rapid Response Service. This particular service covers Greater Sydney and Central Coast regions, whilst operating at no cost to the patients that are saved. The Rapid Response Service's primary purpose is to ensure patients receive hospital level critical care as soon as they arrive to the patient, as opposed to waiting till they get to a hospital.
As a critical care provider, CareFlight places emphasis on speed and ensure they reach patients on average within 18 minutes from the initial 000 call, however they are often much faster. To achieve this, the CareFlight team has one of the fastest helicopters in the world and is commonly tasked by the NSW Ambulance control centre for around 250-300 missions per year.
The rapid response organisation was recognised as Australia’s most reputable charity in 2019, making Servcorp a proud sponsor of CareFlight.
Servcorp has supported the not-for-profit organisation since 2020, by providing them access to a range of Servcorp’s services. These services have assisted CareFlight in carrying out their meetings with potential clients and given the organisation workspaces to operate from.
Servcorp looks forward to continuing this partnership with CareFlight as they continue to serve Australia and save lives.
